Went to watch
Spiderman 3 yesterday. All I can say is that the reviews weren't kidding when they stated that it was action-packed and exciting. I'm not going to give away much as I don't want anybody accusing me of giving spoilers or something. So here's my review for this movie:
Favourite scene: The last part when the 3 friends (Peter, Mary Jane & Harry) cried together.
Most hated scene: The scenes which Peter leaves a fringe for his "new" hairstyle. That bad-boy look does
not work for him. *shivers*
Most funniest scene: In the French restaurant, the waiter kept on mistaking Peter's gestures as a signal to, um, bring in the ring. (Is that too much of a spoiler? Nah!)
Most favourite character in this movie: Aunt May. Without her, Peter would have been lost.
Most annoying character: Mary Jane. She's
always the damsel in distress. And the worst part is, she screams sooo loud. Can she at least have some dignity and keep the screaming to herself?
Character similarity: Harry Osborn. He is
so like Shinn Asuka from
Gundam Seed Destiny.
(The following paragraph and the next is about the similarities between Shinn & Harry. If you dislike anime, you might want to skip these 2 paragraphs. *coughs*Agnes*coughs*)
Like Shinn, Harry is too caught up with his own world and refuses to see the bigger picture or even listen to his best friend, Peter. In GSD, Shinn blames Kira for Stellar's death and hates him for it. Kira only killed Stellar because she was destroying a city, so technically, Kira had a good reason in killing her and Stellar's the real "villain" in this case. But Shinn simply refuses to see that (the bigger picture) and is biased towards Stellar and blames Kira!
Similarly, Harry blames Peter for his father's death despite the fact that Peter told him that his father killed himself and that his father was the Green Goblin (the villain in Spiderman), thus, even if Peter did kill his father (which he did not), he would have a good reason to.
Lessons learnt:
Don't kill people. Even if that person you're killing killed somebody you love. As Aunt May said, nobody can judge whether a person deserves to live or die. (Where would the movie be without Aunt May?)
Don't seek revenge basically. It's a poison after all.
Make the right choice.
Forgive yourself.
If you find some unknown strange object, it's best you don't touch it and bring it to an expert.
See the bigger picture (can't forget that). Listen to both sides of the story.
Don't be self-centered. Understand how people feel and when they're down, don't talk about you, you, you (I should remember this one. So that I can add-on just in case I decide to do another "Comfort" post).
Verdict: 4/ 5 stars.
I enjoyed this movie overally. The good thing about all three of the Spiderman movies, is that you always learn something from each of them. Unfortunately, they focused too much on Peter's problems in this movie so there's very few Spiderman scenes. And by Spiderman scenes, I meant scenes which shows him in the Spiderman costume, kicking butt. Not in photos. Spiderman 2 is better.
